Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health explored the relationship between maternal arsenic exposure and the risk of spina bifida in infants. The research found that certain genetic polymorphisms in genes related to arsenic and folate metabolism may increase susceptibility to arsenic-induced spina bifida. The study, which involved a hospital-based case-control population in Bangladesh, highlights the complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors in the development of neural tube defects.
