A recent study conducted at University Hospital Paolo Giaccone in Palermo, Italy, explored the prognostic value of the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The research found that high TyG index values were superior to HOMA-IR in predicting future cardiovascular and cerebral events (MACCEs) in patients with ACS.
