Abstrakt: This article reports that the academic positions for the 1981-82 academic year were listed in the journal "Spectra." Analysis of the 1980-81 listings suggested that some apparent shifts in long-term trends could have been attributed to the change of systems. Job listings in "Spectra," for 1981-82 totaled 405 positions, an increase of 17% from last year's all-time low of 345 jobs listed. It seems likely that administrators have become more familiar with the process of listing jobs in "Spectra," and the slight increase in total listings can be attributed to increase familiarity rather than an expanding job market. Potential job seekers should take note that 78% of the jobs listed were published during the months of November 1981, through April 1982. Fifty-six percent of all listings were published in the quarter beginning in November and ending in February. The rank of assistant professor once again dominates the listings with 51% for 1981-82. Positions including assistant professor account for 79% of the total listings thus continuing the trend established earlier.
