Researchers at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education in Tamil Nadu, India, have developed a binary ZnO-NiCoMn catalyst that effectively degrades Ciprofloxacin and Ampicillin in wastewater under visible light. The catalyst demonstrated high degradation rates of 96% for Ciprofloxacin and 94% for Ampicillin in 100 minutes. This study highlights the potential of using clean solar energy to treat pharmaceutical wastewater and prevent water pollution, with financial support from King Saud University and the Korea Medical Device Development Fund.
