Abstrakt: Researchers from the University of Wisconsin conducted a study on the effects of sodium oxybate (SXB) on slow wave activity (SWA) and non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep in mice. The study found that SXB promotes SWA by acting directly on the cortex and involves GABAergic somatostatin-positive interneurons. The research was supported by Jazz Pharmaceuticals and has been peer-reviewed. For more information, the study can be found in the European Journal of Neuroscience. [Extracted from the article]
