EXPLORING ONLINE LEARNERS' PERSPECTIVES IN RELATION TO PROCTORED EXAMS.

Abstrakt: This study targets to investigate the opinions and perceptions of the online and distance learners regarding to online proctored exams. A qualitative case study was employed to explore views of the participants related to the online proctored exam practice. The data were collected from 69 undergraduate distance learners via an online form. A content analysis approach were employed to analyze the data. As a result of the content analysis three themes namely, satisfaction, dissatisfaction, and exam administration emerged. The findings indicated that while online and distance learners were satisfied with the online proctored exams as they are secure, convenient, accessible, and reliable they also dissatisfied because of the technical problems and surveillance. Furthermore, the results also revealed that the administration of the online proctored exams needs to be reviewed. It is hoped that the findings will pave the way for future applications and research on the design and implementation of online proctored exams.
