Abstrakt: A recent report from the Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center discusses the impact of margins and re-resection in pediatric synovial sarcoma. The study included 36 patients under the age of 18 who were treated for localized synovial sarcoma at three pediatric hospitals. The researchers found that patients with negative margins on initial resection or re-resection had better overall survival and event-free survival rates compared to those with positive margins. Additionally, they found that there was no significant difference in outcomes for patients with re-resection or margins less than 5 mm, indicating that these approaches are acceptable if microscopic disease is removed.
