A recent report from the Department of Gastroenterology in Chengdu, China discusses the therapeutic potential of Sijunzi-similar formulae for chronic atrophic gastritis. Chronic atrophic gastritis is a significant risk factor for gastric cancer if left untreated. The researchers used Bayesian network meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Sijunzi-similar formulae as an intervention for chronic atrophic gastritis. The results showed that the combination of Sijunzi-similar formulae and basic therapy was more effective than basic therapy alone in terms of clinical efficacy rate, eradication rate of H. pylori, and incidence of adverse events. The study suggests that Chaishao Liujunzi decoction may be the optimal choice among the six formulations studied. [Extracted from the article] |
