Researchers at Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand have reported a rare case of optic neuritis associated with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG). The patient, a 27-year-old woman, experienced visual loss in both eyes and was diagnosed with venous stasis retinopathy. Treatment with high-dose corticosteroids resulted in a rapid improvement of vision in one eye, but the other eye did not recover due to dense vitreous hemorrhage. This case highlights a rare ocular complication of MOG-associated optic neuritis and suggests that further research may uncover new clinical presentations of this disorder.
