Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from Central South University in China evaluated the pharmacokinetics and bioavailability of kokusaginine, a bioactive ingredient extracted from Ruta graveolens L. The study aimed to understand the sex-specific effects on the metabolism and distribution of kokusaginine in the body. The researchers developed a sensitive UPLC method to quantify kokusaginine in rat plasma and tissue homogenates and found significant sex-dependent metabolic variability. The study concluded that these findings are important for informing clinical medication practices, dosage optimization, and understanding drug efficacy and safety in a sex-specific context.
