Abstrakt: The article discusses the use of mechanized planting machines in New Zealand forestry. Forest owners are exploring these machines as a solution to labor shortages and to ensure continuous planting. One machine, the PlantMax, imported from Sweden, has shown promising results with an average planting rate of 1,800 seedlings per hour. However, there are still challenges to overcome, such as maneuvering around obstacles. While mechanized planting is tempting for large-scale forest owners, manual planting remains a cheaper option for now. [Extracted from the article]
