A recent study conducted at Bern University Hospital in Switzerland compared the accuracy of two smartphone applications, SNAQ and Calorie Mama, in estimating the carbohydrate content of meals for individuals with type 1 diabetes. The study found that SNAQ outperformed both Calorie Mama and the estimation accuracy of the participants themselves. The researchers concluded that SNAQ may be an effective tool for carbohydrate estimation support in people with type 1 diabetes, particularly those who struggle with large or inconsistent estimation errors. However, further research is needed to evaluate its impact on glucose control. [Extracted from the article] |
