Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at the National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital explored a new method for augmentation genioplasty using discarded bone fragments from intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO). The study focused on a 43-year-old female patient with Class III malocclusion and a protruding mandible. The surgical plan involved mandibular setback position using IVRO and augmentation genioplasty. The results showed that augmentation genioplasty using the proximal bone fragment of the mandible, which is typically discarded in IVRO, can reduce surgical complications associated with chin osteotomy. This research provides valuable insights for orthopedic procedures and bone research. [Extracted from the article] |
