Abstrakt: This report describes a case of atrial fibrillation conducted rapidly over a bypass tract postoperatively in a 73-year-old man subsequently shown to have intermittent pre-excitation. The determinants of atrioventricular bypass tract conduction and potential for dynamic functional change in bypass properties are reviewed. This article challenges the widely held clinical belief that patients with intermittent pre-excitation are unlikely to experience rapidly conducted atrial fibrillation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
