Abstrakt: External buttressing bone formation are cortical bone overgrowths, occurring in different anatomical locations in the oral cavity. The external buttressing bone formation is also known as Alveolar Bone Exostosis, especially in the maxillary anterior region. Exostosis in response to the trauma from occlusion is a popular concept proposed. However, the etiological factors behind this development remain unclear. This report aims to describe the surgical management of external buttering bone formation in patient with gingival enlargement. A 23-year-old female patient systemically healthy, nonsmoking, has a complaint of swelling in the upper jaw, which was an esthetic concern to the patient. The treatment plan consisted of dental health education, scaling root planning, reducing gingival enlargement with an excisional new attachment procedure (ENAP), and improving esthetics by removing the exostosis. The combination of Surgical management carried out the goal of alveolar bone exostosis and improved the esthetic condition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
