J. Stanley Newcomer, a blacksmith from Mount Joy, PA, was chosen as one of the artists for the 2024 Ring Project. He has previous experience with ABANA conferences and has been a member of the Pennsylvania Artist Blacksmiths' Association for about 30 years. Newcomer decided to participate in the Ring Project and his design of a blacksmith forging under the word "Johnstown" was chosen. He spent around 20-24 hours creating the ring, which features a blacksmith made of horseshoe nails and an anvil made of hammered steel. Newcomer plans to continue blacksmithing as long as he can and has a family history of blacksmithing as well. [Extracted from the article] |
