Abstrakt: Marcella Liburd, born on July 10, 1953, is a politician from Saint Kitts and Nevis. In 2023, she became the first woman to be appointed as the governor-general of the country. Liburd has been a trailblazer in her career, being the first female speaker in the National Assembly and the first female chair of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party. She is known for her advocacy for social justice and gender equality, particularly in the drafting of the Equal Pay Act and the Domestic Violence Act.
