Abstrakt: A patent has been issued for a guidewire apparatus and method for multiple parameter analysis of coronary stenosis. The invention aims to provide additional clinical data for evaluating patients with borderline indications, specific stenosis in patients with multi-vessel disease, and patients with no clinical need. The apparatus includes a guidewire with multiple electrode pairs that can record an Intra-Coronary Electrogram (ICEG) and heart pacing, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis of an individual patient's stenosis and a more patient-specific diagnosis of clinical need. The method involves positioning the guidewire within a vessel, measuring impedance across the stenosis, and analyzing the signal data to determine functional characteristics of the subtended myocardium.
