Abstrakt: A new report discusses research findings on cancer incidence and etiology in the active duty population of the US military. The study suggests that active duty service members (ADS) represent a healthy population with a low risk of cancer, but over 800 ADS are diagnosed with cancer each year. Melanoma is the most common cancer in ADS, while testicular cancer is the most common in males and breast cancer is the most common in females. The etiology of cancer in ADS is largely unknown, but research programs are being developed to improve understanding and outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
