A new report from the University of Oran 1 discusses research on the potential use of medicinal plant infusions in treating kidney stones. The study focused on the efficacy of infusions made from Arenaria rubra, Hordeum vulgare, and Zea mays in dissolving different types of urinary calculi. The research found that while the infusions had limited effects on certain types of calculi, they showed significant dissolution effects on others, such as cystine, uric acid, and calcium phosphate calculi. The study suggests that integrating plant infusions into clinical practice could offer additional treatment options for managing kidney stones. [Extracted from the article] |
