The article discusses the ongoing process of removing four dams on the Klamath River in order to restore the river's natural state and allow for the free migration of fish. The first dam, Copco 2, has already been removed, and work is now underway to remove the remaining three dams. The removal of the dams will also involve the planting of millions of native seeds and the restoration of critical riparian habitat. The process of demolishing the dams is expected to be completed by the end of October 2024, allowing the river to support a thriving fishery once again. [Extracted from the article] |
