Sudan is currently facing the world's largest displacement crisis, with nearly 9 million people forced to flee to other parts of Sudan or neighboring countries. The majority of the population lacks access to healthcare, and a whole generation of children is missing out on education. The situation has worsened since 1985, when a famine in the province of Darfur was described as the worst crisis by a Guardian reporter.
