Abstrakt: Brown tumor is a rare condition often observed more frequently in female patients, typically in the sixth decade of life or older. However, we present the case of a 20-year-old male who was referred for evaluation of a painful mandibular mass that had been present for 2 months. The patient's medical history included chronic renal disease, and he had been undergoing hemodialysis for 2 years. Upon intra-oral examination, a swelling on the lingual surface in the posterior region of the mandible was identified. A panoramic radiograph revealed irregular radiolucencies extending from tooth 34 to 48. An incisional biopsy was performed, and microscopic analysis showed well-vascularized dense connective tissue, with variable numbers of spindle-shaped cells and multinucleated giant cells diffusely distributed. Laboratory tests indicated elevated levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH), calcium, and alkaline phosphatase. Consequently, a diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism brown tumor was established. The patient received treatment to control PTH levels, and after a 9-month follow-up, he remained stable and exhibited a decrease in the size of the tumor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
