Abstrakt: This report presents a case that highlights the challenges in diagnosing a bone finding in the mandible of a 26-year-old man, which had been observed for six years and initially appeared as bone sclerosis. The condition had progressed painlessly without any clinical symptoms. The patient remained asymptomatic, but the most recent panoramic radiography revealed a mixed image extending from tooth 46 to 47, which raised the suspicion of a fibro-osseous lesion. A cone-beam computed tomography was subsequently performed, which showed a hyperdense image adjacent to the trabecular bone and intertwined between the roots of tooth 46 and the mesial root of 47. The imaging also indicated the expansion of the lingual cortical. At the patient's request, a partial resection of the lesion was performed, and the histopathological examination showed numerous bone trabeculae permeated by fibrous connective tissue and red blood cells, thus confirming the diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia. The radiological aspects were consistent with monostotic fibrous dysplasia. The patient is currently under follow-up care for two months. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
