Abstrakt: A 33-year-old male patient visited the hospital's outpatient clinic with an asymptomatic swelling in the left mandible that had been present for more than 10 years. Imaging examinations revealed an expansive and osteolytic multilocular lesion affecting the left mandibular body, angle, and ramus. An incisional biopsy was conducted, which indicated a fragment of malignant neoplasm characterized by the proliferation of mucous, intermediate, and squamoid cells. Architectural configurations included solid areas and cystic spaces, partially lined by mucous cells with abundant mucinous cytoplasm. These cells displayed intracytoplasmic alcian blue and periodic acid-Schiff staining with diastase resistance. The final diagnosis was low-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC). The patient was subsequently referred for head and neck surgery, where a composite hemimandibulectomy was performed. The diagnosis of central intraosseous MEC was confirmed in the surgical specimen. Over a 1-year follow-up, no signs of relapse were observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
