Abstrakt: The aim was to describe a case of a patient referred to a Hospital Dentistry Service for the diagnosis and treatment of a lesion in the upper lip. A 51-year-old male, presenting a lesion with episodes of constant trauma and growth, exhibited no systemic diseases and maintained good overall health. The patient had a history of prior surgical treatment in another service, which did not result in complete resolution, and a previous diagnosis of mucous retention phenomenon. Clinically, a purple submucosal nodule of approximately 1.5 cm was observed. Before the biopsy procedure, serological tests (TAP, APTT, and platelet count) were conducted. An excisional biopsy was performed, involving divulsion and separation of the lesion, along with excision of the minor salivary glands around the enlarged lesion. Histopathological analysis revealed an arteriovenous malformation. Post-surgery, the patient reported no further complaints and exhibited a good recovery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
