Abstrakt: Ossifying fibroma (OF) is a rare benign tumor classified as a fibro-osseous lesion, characterized by the replacement of normal bone tissue with fibrous tissue. The central variant of OF is unusual and often exhibits a preference for the mandible among the jawbones. OF is more commonly found in female patients, and it typically grows slowly, is asymptomatic, and may result in facial asymmetry. This case report describes a central OF located in the mandible of a 63-year-old female patient, who sought treatment at the University's Clinic due to her ill-fitting prosthesis. During the clinical examination, an increased volume was observed in the right mandible, near the premolar and canine region, measuring approximately 20 mm. The treatment of this lesion was performed in two separate surgical procedures. During the first surgery, a biopsy was conducted, and during the second procedure, the lesion was completely removed through enucleation. Currently, the patient is undergoing clinical and radiographic follow-up to monitor her progress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
