Abstrakt: | A recent report from the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber discusses the proteogenomic characterization of difficult-to-treat breast cancer (DTBC) compared to luminal A (LumA) tumors. The study collected 117 untreated primary breast tumor specimens and used laser microdissection to enrich tumor cells. The researchers found distinct variations in gene mutations, structural variations, and chromosomal alterations between DTBC and LumA tumors. They also identified potential biomarkers for high/low relapse-risk basal-like breast cancer. This study provides valuable insights into the molecular characteristics of DTBC and may guide treatment selections in the future. [Extracted from the article] |
