In this study we aimed to track the influence of environmental factors such as light, temperature, CO2 and light spectrum on photosynthesis in the aquatic plant Egeria densa. As a working method, the bubble method was used using obliquely sectioned plant shoots fixed on a glass rod with the tip down, and the sectioned part to be 2-3 cm below the water level not to touch the walls of the test tube. To determine the intensity of photosynthesis, O2 bubbles released/min were counted. It was found by the recorded results that the optimal intensity of the light acting on photosynthesis at the optimal level was provided at an intensity of 100W, with a distance of 10cm from the light source and at a temperature of about 20°C. Following CO2, the best outcome was at a concentration of 5mg/L NaHCO3, and by analyzing the quality of light, red light was the most effective, followed by blue color and then green color by the values recorded in the experiments. These results can be useful to achieve a suitable environment for aquatic plants to ensure the health of the aquatic ecosystem. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
