An interview with first female wheelchair athlete Ironman finisher Minda Dentler in 2024 is presented. When asked on how she got to do Ironman, she cites her learning of a club for athletes with disabilities in Central Park at age 28, and began to train on a hand cycle, to go biking on a racing chair and to take swimming lessons. Dentler states that she has been a triathlete for 16 years, and is a mom and works full time. She notes the importance of self-belief in achieving one's goals. |
