The article discusses the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The conflict, which has been described as the deadliest since World War II, has resulted in the displacement of millions of people and widespread violence against civilians. The region is rich in natural resources, including cobalt, which is vital for green energy products. The article suggests that the lack of media coverage and international attention may be due to the absence of direct US interests in the region. The US government and public tend to pay more attention to conflicts in which they are directly involved. The article argues that the restriction of information about human suffering violates the principles of the commons and human solidarity. [Extracted from the article] |
