The article discusses the practice of the US Air Force deploying nuclear weapons on military bases in other countries, known as "nuclear sharing" or "forward basing." This practice has been condemned by various groups and experts in international law, as well as by the United Nations and foreign affairs offices around the world. The US currently stations around 100 of its B61 thermonuclear gravity bombs in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Holland, and Turkey, which violates the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The article argues that the US should withdraw its nuclear weapons from Europe and come into compliance with the NPT. [Extracted from the article] |
