Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences evaluated the effectiveness of amoxicillin-clavulanate as an alternative therapy for urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by ceftriaxone non-susceptible bacteria. The study found that patients who received amoxicillin-clavulanate did not have higher failure rates compared to those who received standard of care (SOC). Additionally, the frequency of amoxicillin-clavulanate and carbapenem-resistant organisms did not differ significantly between the two groups. This suggests that amoxicillin-clavulanate may be a useful alternative therapy for the treatment of ceftriaxone non-susceptible UTIs. [Extracted from the article]
