This article discusses the challenges faced by undocumented immigrants in Bozeman, Montana, a rapidly growing city with a strong economy. Many immigrants, like Rosa and Luis from Honduras, have come to Bozeman in search of employment opportunities. The city's economic growth, driven by wealthy individuals and a luxury real estate market, has created a high demand for workers in construction and service jobs. However, the influx of immigrants has also led to issues such as increased homelessness and a lack of affordable housing. Undocumented immigrants in Bozeman often face mistreatment and wage theft in the construction industry, as well as limited access to healthcare and affordable housing. Immigrant children also struggle in the local school system, with little support from city and state institutions. Despite these challenges, some immigrants receive support and kindness from members of the community. [Extracted from the article] |
