Abstrakt: | A study conducted by the Lahore Institute of Fertility and Endocrinology in Pakistan aimed to determine the prevalence of aneuploidy (abnormalities in chromosomes) in embryos of fertile couples. The study analyzed 409 embryos obtained from 113 couples undergoing preimplantation genetic testing. The results showed that 70.7% of the embryos were unaffected by aneuploidy in the five chromosomes studied. Trisomy 21 was the most common abnormality observed. The study suggests that the prevalence of aneuploidy in fertile couples is lower compared to sub-fertile couples, providing insights for counseling couples with unexplained sub-fertility.
