Abstrakt: | To investigate the effect of COVID-19 on lifestyle and behavior before and after contracting COVID-19 in individuals between 18-64 years old. This is a survey based study. Ninety-eight individuals participated in a web-based Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP) survey. The survey was promoted on multiple social media platforms using a Google forms link. Responders answered questions regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors before and after a COVID diagnosis. Setting is the general community. After applying the exclusion criteria, ninety-six individuals were included in the data. It is a survey based study. Survey was sent to investigate the effect of COVID-19 on lifestyle and behavior before and after contracting COVID-19. Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II survey (HPLP) score The data using a paired samples t-test showed the responders had a high Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II survey (HPLP) score, increased health responsibility, increased spiritual growth, better nutrition, and an increase in stress management level post-COVID. Using Spearman's rho to find significant correlations, our data conveyed that responders who scored higher on the HPLP pre-COVID also scored higher after recovery. Additionally, our data showed a significant increase in sleep duration post-COVID compared to the sleep duration prior to contracting the virus. Overall there was a high HPLP. We also found participants scored higher post-recovery in the stress management category when compared to pre-COVID. Our research participants seemed to be eating healthier post-COVID than pre-COVID, which correlates with Rabail et al.'s study. They found that 71.2% of patients claimed their dietary pattern has improved during the recovery, thus carrying over to post-recovery. No disclosures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
