Issue: The emergence of artificial intelligence and tools such as ChatGPT poses a new horizon for higher education faculty and administrators by offering numerous possibilities to help with everyday tasks, brainstorming, or kickstarting proposals. However, ethical considerations, accuracy, and potential biases should be addressed when implementing ChatGPT. This session will share ways that ChatGPT can be utilized for efficiency and collaboration by educators across allied health professions. Method: Program directors and faculty from several allied health professions were surveyed about their use of, and opinions of the pros cons of ChatGPT in their profession. Survey questions were both qualitative and quantitative in design. Outcomes: From the survey results better-informed polices can be written and training material and sessions on how to efficiently engage with this tool were designed and implemented. We will provide specific recommendations including policy statements for syllabi use and examples to promote a student-centered approach to higher education. Conclusion: As the field of allied health continues to evolve, embracing such technological advancements is crucial towards cultivating tomorrow's leaders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
