This article highlights the efforts of Faye Guenther and UFCW Local 3000 to reform the grocery workers union, UFCW International. Despite facing opposition and retaliation, Local 3000 is committed to democratic reforms, increased organizing efforts, and a more ambitious approach to the class war. They believe that the UFCW International's organizing strategy and budget are flawed and aim to make the union more democratic, aggressive in organizing, and rooted in social justice. Their proposed measures include a "one member, one vote" structure and limiting the salary of local officers. They plan to spend the next few years building support and training reform delegates for the next UFCW convention. [Extracted from the article] |
