The article presents the discussion on Moscow about the implications of Valery Gergiev's upcoming appointment as the Intendant of the Bolshoi Theatre. Topics include experienced Yevgeny Pisarev, the staging contented itself with skillfully arranging the characters against the unremarkable set by Zinovy Margolin; and portraying sincerity and expressive depth while tactfully highlighting the role of the theater itself as the opera's main protagonist. |
