The article presents information the discovery of a document relating to a lost commission by sculptor Luca della Robbia for Afonso of Braganza, First Marquis of Valença drawn up by the Florentine Piero Migliorelli on May 23, 1452. It discusses a document published by John Pope-Henessy about the seven cases of tin-glazed terracotta for the Marquis, a document showing the receipt of a partial payment received by the sculptor, and instructions indicated in the contract about the two reliefs. |
