A recent study from Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs explores the scientific and psychological concepts of domestic violence. The research highlights new risk factors for domestic violence that have emerged due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, including fear, uncertainty, socio-economic instability, and increased alcohol and drug use. The study examines different approaches to understanding domestic violence, such as the socio-cultural approach, the individual psychological approach, and the systemic-family approach. The research concludes that the most widely accepted theory is the ecological theory of violence, which considers the problem from different aspects and emphasizes the need for prevention and appropriate response to domestic violence.
