Abstrakt: This article provides a critical review of Samuel Farber's book on Che Guevara, arguing that it contains biases and historical inaccuracies. The authors emphasize the importance of understanding the Cuban revolution and Guevara's role within its specific historical context. They dispute Farber's examination of Guevara's political thought and career, highlighting the influence of his experiences in Guatemala and interactions with Trotskyist circles. The article also challenges Farber's positive assessment of the old Cuban Communist Party and refutes claims that Guevara's politics were similar to ultraleftist militancy or Stalinism. It aims to provide a more nuanced perspective on Guevara's character and actions. Additionally, the article discusses conflicting perspectives on Guevara's legacy and provides a list of references for further research. [Extracted from the article]
