Researchers from Shandong University in China have conducted a comprehensive review of different treatment regimens for eradicating Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria. The study found that there are global variations in the regimens used, with triple therapy, bismuth quadruple therapy, and high-dose dual therapy being the most common. The researchers recommend standardized treatment recommendations, including specific treatment durations and the incorporation of susceptibility testing. They also emphasize the importance of patient education in the eradication of H. pylori. The study suggests that a 10-day empirical bismuth quadruple therapy regimen may be a preferred choice for H. pylori eradication in regions with accessible local research evidence.
