With a large heavy industrial sector and strong trade links with the EU, Türkiye is particularly exposed to the European Union's implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Using a global trade and environment model, this article outlines the potential impacts of the CBAM on Türkiye's economy and the specific effects on CBAM sectors. It also assesses how, by taking action to reduce emissions, the impact of CBAM can be reduced and exports maintained or grow. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
