Abstrakt: Researchers at Wayne State University have conducted a study evaluating the performance of a voice-enabled autonomous camera control system for the da Vinci surgical robot. The study found that while a human-operated camera control method outperformed an automated algorithm in terms of task completion, subjective feedback indicated that the voice-enabled autonomous system was comparable to a human-operated system. Thirteen out of twenty subjects, including the surgeon, preferred the voice-enabled system. This research is a step towards developing a more natural language interface for surgical robotics.
