Abstrakt: |
The article presents information on a study in which researchers investigated the relationship between sex chromosome aberrations and learning disorders from two perspectives. For this purpose, the researchers examined the karyotype of a small number of men with severe dyslexia persisting into adulthood. Twenty adult men receiving remedial reading instruction in the Language Disorders Unit of the Massachusetts General Hospital participated in the study. All of the men had verbal and full scale IQs of 80 or higher and none could spell above the ninth grade level. |
