The article presents an outlook for additive manufacturing (AM). Topics discussed include the growth of three dimensional (3D) printing and its use to create agile/robust supply chains, the industrialization of AM as reflected in the launch of large-format systems and other material advances, and vendors' efforts to make design for AM (DfAM) more accessible. Also discussed are the development of software for seamless design-to-3D print workflows and 3D printing applications in various sectors. |
