The article discusses a secret subterranean party den called Club Sandwich located in Southampton. The basement of a traditional house has been transformed into a glamorous and exclusive space inspired by 1970s aesthetics. The design was a collaboration between architect Gil Schafer, Atelier Mériguet-Carrère, Le Manach, and l'Observatoire International. The owner wanted to challenge the architect and create a fun and unconventional space. The basement features ebony lacquer walls, stainless steel furniture, and theatrical lighting. The space is used for late-night parties and includes a collection of netsuke skulls, a serpentine suede banquette, and a Louis XVI-style stainless steel desk. [Extracted from the article] |
