Two wetland restoration projects in Pickering, Ontario have received $925,000 in provincial funding as part of the Wetlands Conservation Partner Program. The program aims to restore and enhance wetlands in various areas, including urban areas and agricultural lands. Since its launch in 2020, the program has invested $20 million in over 330 projects, restoring and enhancing approximately 7,200 acres of wetlands. The projects in Pickering will improve water drainage, enhance habitat for fish and wildlife, and provide recreational opportunities.
