This article explores the role of instructional designers at the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) in New Zealand. The instructional designers at SIT have faced challenges in defining their role and justifying their interventions to colleagues. The article focuses on two projects: developing M¿ori content and implementing HyFlex delivery. In the M¿ori content project, the author collaborated with the M¿ori Development Unit to create culturally appropriate content. In the HyFlex delivery project, the author supported teachers in transitioning to blended teaching. The article emphasizes the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and learning from experiences for instructional designers. It also calls for more sharing of experiences and the development of a community of practice to support instructional designers in New Zealand. [Extracted from the article] |
